About Us

We began making natural herbal skin care in a solar and wind-powered yurt atop a ridge in the Santa Lucia mountains near Santa Margarita. We sold at farmer’s markets and outdoor events in San Luis Obispo county for 7 years, listening to our customers concerns for a pure natural way to make their skin healthy and carefully working on our natural formulas that work.

There are thousands of synthetic chemicals we come in contact with every day.These chemicals are in our air, food, clothing, cosmetics, skin care products, and often our work. There are over 6,000 synthetic chemicals in our environment that have never been tested for safety. More than 3,000 of them are used soley to make skin care products smell the way they do. If you ever read the word "fragrance" on a label it means they are using some of these chemicals. Many of these are readily absorbed through our skin and lungs, enter our bloodstream and accumulate in our organs.

To us, skin care products seem a very dangerous place to put these synthetic chemicals. Our skin is our last defense against an unkind environment and these toxins can compromise our immune systems.

We don't use any synthetics at all, no artificial color, no artificial fragrance and we make our soaps with coconut oil and olive oil, both proven to protect and heal the skin. We have many products with no scent at all, but that doesn't mean our products can't be fun, varied and surprising! Try our Cocoa Merlot soap, it's made with real Merlot wine and real chocolate!
